Lucy & Mark’s Autumnal Wedding at Botley Hill Barn
Lucy and Mark’s wedding was one of the highlights of my 2023 season, Botley Hill Barn had been on my ‘wedding bucket list’ for a while so I was over the moon when they chose me to capture their story. I had an amazing team to work with on this day, my second shooter, Linas, was there from groom prep up until before the speeches, and also had two videographers - so we had everything covered.
I joined Lucy in the morning at her parent’s house, where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready. On arrival, I started off with getting those important detail shots. I LOVE capturing bridal preps, it’s so much fun capturing all the excitement and different stages of getting ready. Lucy had a big reveal with all her bridesmaids so this was extra special to be able to capture.
Candle Lit Ceremony, followed by portraits & drinks at Botley Hill Barn
Lucy and Mark’s ceremony was beautiful, it never gets old capturing couples saying their ‘I do’s’ and the just married excitement. Confetti was thrown as they walked down the aisle, a great idea if rain is forecast and your ceremony is indoors! Their reception drinks took place inside the main barn at Botley Hill. Lucy and Mark had an early dinner, so we didn’t have long to get their portraits done, so it wasn’t long before we got started. The space at this venue is dreamy for portraits, with a choice of the barn itself as a backdrop or the rolling hills of Surrey’s countryside, you are spoilt for choice!
An Iconic Champagne Shower
After dinner and speeches, it was cocktail hour, and the drinks were flowing and it was almost time for the dance party to begin! Before the dancing began, we had one more portrait to tick off the list - a champagne spray. This was an iconic moment of the day, their bridal party loved getting involved and it was so much fun to shoot! Once the champagne had been popped, it was time for their cake-cutting, which led to their first dance. The DJ surprised guests by coming into the dancefloor playing a saxophone - another iconic moment from this day.
Lucy and Mark thank you for trusting me to capture your day, I loved every second of it and hope to be back at Botley Hill Barn in the future!
