Brighton Town Hall Wedding

Back in October, I had the pleasure of photographing Gabi and Rich’s intimate wedding. It was held over two days (a day and an evening to be more precise) and it honestly was a perfect way to celebrate their marriage. They held their wedding ceremony at Brighton Town Hall, followed by dinner at Murmur, with their close family and friends. It was day filled with plenty of love, laughter, (a little bit of rain) and plenty of their favourite wine. The next day, they continued the fun at Patterns in Brighton, for an evening of dancing with their friends.

Gabi and Rich booked me for a total of 5 hours, and we split this over the two days, so they had plenty of coverage. There was no bridal or groom prep needed, so I joined them at The Mesmerist, where Rich was having his last pint as an unmarried man. The Mesmerist, was just a stones throw away from Brighton Town Hall, so it was a perfect meeting point for everyone. As Rich and their guests started to head over to the town hall, Gabi arrived and she looked stunning in her emerald green dress. Before the ceremony there was a last minute decision for Gabi and Rich to have a first look, and I’m so glad they did! I haven’t shot many first looks but it was such a beautiful moment to capture.

Couple portraits along Brighton beachfront.

After the ceremony and the most colourful confetti walk of the year, we all headed towards Murmour, which is located along Brighton sea front. As their guests headed off, Gabi, Rich and myself headed towards the lanes to get some portrait shots. We had spoken before their wedding about the location, so we had a path set out. By the time we’d reached the seafront, rain had started to fall, so there was a last minute purchase of an umbrella which saved them from the downpour and resulted in some of my favourite images of the day.

Reception drinks and dinner at stylish Brighton restaurant.

Luckily, it was only a quick downpour so we managed to get some beachfront portraits of them together, as they arrived at the resturaunt they were greeted with some bubbly. After a glass or two, we all headed outside to get the family portraits done. It was pretty chilly out, so I tried to gather everyone up as quick as I could to avoid standing in the cold for too long. Once we were done, they all headed inside to be seated. Before they ate, there were speeches, which had everyone in stitches of laughter, and tears. As I left them everyone was tucking into their dinner, and I was excited to see them all again the following evening.

A wedding celebration isnt complete without some dancing, right?

The following evening, I arrived and the party had already begun, people were enjoying drinks and tucking into some delicious tacos. It wasn’t long before Gabi and Rich took to the dance floor for their first dance and it was BRILLIANT. The band really put on a show and had everyone dancing into the night. I had so much fun capturing their celebrations, if you're considering a more personal and intimate wedding, Gabi and Rich's approach of enjoying it over two days was spot on.
