Brighton Seafront Wedding

Back in August, I had the pleasure of photographing Sally and Jake’s Brighton wedding. We met up about a month before their big day, at their venue, which is located along the seafront. I’m not usually able to walk around the venue with a couple, but as we were both living in Brighton we decided to check out the space together. Since their wedding, the venue has since been rebranded from ‘Brighton Beach Club’ to the Seahorse and still looks like a dreamy space to host a wedding.

I joined Sally for the remaining hour of her bridal prep, with herself and her bridesmaids in the final stages of getting ready. There was excitement in the air as they drank their prosecco together. Sally’s dad arrived for their final moments together before heading to the venue. We snapped a few quick portraits of them all together before it was time to head to the ceremony.

A wedding ceremony with a sea view,

As I arrived at the venue guests were starting to take their seats. I headed out the front to look out for Sally’s arrival and was easily spotted crossing the road, with her bridal squad. The registrars joined them out the front for her interview and captured her last moments with her bridesmaids before heading inside to become a Mrs! Their ceremony was a joy to photograph, with Brighton seafront in the backdrop, it really was a stunning setting. Once they’d said their ‘I -do’s’ and walked down the aisle together as Mr and Mrs, it was time for some prossecco!

Portraits and drinks along Brighton seafront,

After sharing hugs and kisses from their friends and family, it was time for couple portraits. We’d already pre-planned a route and headed to the bandstand. Lucky for us there was no one using it at the time, so it was a perfect opportunity to get some portraits of them together. I didn’t want to keep them from their celebrations for long so once we were done, we headed back to everyone and carried on with the family portraits. Sally and Jake didn’t want to be taken away too long from their guests, so we kept this part of the day short and sweet.

Before long, it was time to head over for dinner. Their dinner reception was held downstairs, in a beautifully decorated room, with Brighton seafront as a backdrop drop throughout. After their dinner, we had the speeches. Not only did Jake give a speech, but Sally did too.

A warm summers evening,

It was a beautiful summer's evening, so as the speeches finished everyone headed outside to get some air and take in the view. As the evening guests arrived, we had the cake cutting, which is always over quicker than you might expect. After this, we headed straight to the first dance, where Sally and Jake twirled and boogied together. These dancing photos were some of my favorites from the day, as Sally’s stunning dress shimmied away and looked amazing on camera (as it did in real life.)
