The Great Barn Wedding Photography, Sussex

A bride and groom are standing, facing eachother, the groom holds the brides waist, and the bride is resting her hands on his chest. They are both smiling at eachother, they are surrounded by beautiful spring flowers.

A beautiful Barn Wedding, in the Sussex Countryside

I joined Lucía for bridal prep, where she and her two bridesmaids were getting ready. I arrived as the final preparations were underway, dresses were steamed, and jewelry was being put on. With their honeymoon adventure awaiting the next morning, there was plenty of excitement getting ready and ensuring everything was packed. Once her dress was on,  it was time for a quick hot-cross bun and Sam left a card to read before heading to the church to say ‘i do’!

An intimate church ceremony, followed by portraits surrounded by blossom

The ceremony, led by Sam's pastor father in their family church, unfolded with heartfelt moments, from Lucía's entrance with her dad to the magical first kiss. The entire event was a symphony of singing, prayers, and a joyous confetti walk down the church path for their grand exit.

Post-confetti, a spontaneous decision (only made two days prior) took us to the stunning Hole Park Gardens, a beautiful setting with blossoming flowers and daffodils that felt like something out of a fairytale, a perfect spot for some portraits of the two of them together, before heading to the barn to begin the celebrations.

Celebrations begin at the Great Barn

Transitioning to the reception at the Great Barn in Sussex, Lucía and Sam infused personal touches into every detail. Serving wine to guests before the meal, along with entertaining speeches, spread smiles and laughter. The perfect spring weather provided an ideal backdrop for relaxation and drinks, including some playful moments in puddles for the little ones.

Lucia and sam really made their day their own, and added an extra special touch, a quiz! This really got everyone involved, it had guests running around, and really showed their competitive side - it was great fun! The evening wrapped up with Lucía and Sam's first dance, which took place in the centre of the barn, it was a beautiful end and before long all their guests were joining in!

“Carys photographed our wedding earlier this year and she was marvellous! We absolutely love our pictures and Carys made the whole experience so comfortable. Many of our guests told us how nice she seemed and how well she fit into our wedding day! :)”

This wedding really was a perfect start to the wedding season, and shows that you can really make your wedding day your own and include elements that you both enjoy - like a quiz! Enjoy this glimpse into their day x
