There’s something magical about a summer barn wedding, and Maia & Jordan’s big day at The Secret Barn was no exception. With golden sunshine, rustic charm, and so much love in the air, their wedding was a joy to photograph. It was my first time at The Secret Barn and it didn’t disappoint, from the rustic ceremony room, to the beautifully decorated barn, there was so much outdoor space for everyone to enjoy, it really was a perfect day.

Getting Ready in a Cosy Cottage

I spent the morning with Maia at a cosy little cottage near The Secret Barn, where she got ready surrounded by family. Her four bridesmaids—her sisters—were right by her side, and her daughter made the sweetest little flower girl. The room was filled with excitement (and a few nerves, of course—totally normal in those final moments!). Maia looked absolutely stunning in her dress with its gorgeous lace sleeves, and her little one’s outfit was just the cutest!

A Ceremony filled with Laughter & Love

Their ceremony took place in the most beautifully decorated barn, filled with flowers and the perfect mix of rustic charm and romance. But what made it truly special was their friend, who officiated the wedding—and clearly knew exactly how to keep Maia’s nerves at bay! In a hilarious surprise, he showed up dressed as a priest, instantly making Maia burst into laughter and easing any last-minute jitters.

The fun didn’t stop there—he kept the jokes coming, even pretending to take phone calls mid-ceremony, which had the whole room in fits of laughter. Between all the laughter and happy tears, they shared their heartfelt vows before walking back down the aisle as husband and wife!

Confetti and a Beautifully Decorated Barn

After a few just-married hugs, we jumped straight into their confetti walk—and wow, it was easily one of my favourites this wedding season! So many gorgeous petals filled the air, and Maia’s bouquet was the definition of a dreamy summer’s day—just like their entire wedding.

The reception barn was just as beautifully decorated. From the stunning flowers hanging above the bar to the colourful candles and floral arrangements on the tables, every detail was perfect. One of my favourite touches was their homemade "Best Day Ever" sign—it sat right at the heart of their table setup and was the first thing you saw when you walked in, setting the tone for the celebrations ahead!

A Beautiful Summer Day at The Secret Barn

From confetti showers to celebratory drinks with their loved ones, The Secret Barn was the perfect spot for a summer wedding. The sun was shining, the drinks were flowing, and the atmosphere was just buzzing. After a little time soaking it all in, we breezed through the family portraits—quick and easy so Maia and Jordan could get back to celebrating with their guests.

Dinner was a feast in every sense, with delicious sharing plates by the amazing Petal & Feast. And since the weather was so gorgeous, speeches took place outside, making that part of the day feel even more special. There were plenty of heartfelt moments, followed by a hilarious game created by one of their friends—which had everyone involved! It was such a fun, unique touch to their day and definitely a memory they’ll never forget.

As the evening set in, we snuck away for some golden hour portraits. The sun had just dipped behind the clouds, but that soft evening light was still absolutely dreamy—and wow, did Maia and Jordan look incredible together! We made the most of those quiet moments before heading back inside for the cake cutting and, of course, the dance floor! Their daughter was in her element, dancing with everyone and kicking off the evening celebrations in the sweetest way. It was the perfect start to a night full of fun!

It was an absolute joy to capture Miaa and Jordan’s wedding. From the emotional vows to the golden-hour portraits, their day was filled with love, laughter, and pure magic! Thank you for trusting me to capture your day!
